Government Business Development/Proposal Writer

Job description This is a role for dynamic business development manager who can identify, research, and pursuing federal contracts, including fully developing RFIs and RFPs for government submission. The right person for the role will have a proven record of accomplishment of developing and implementing capture plans for federal government contracts, managing the lifecycle from opportunity identification to proposal submission. This role requires someone with experience identifying, researching, and pursuing federal contracts, including fully developing RFIs and RFPs for government submission. This is a remote role with some occasional office time. This is a work from home position with occasional in office meetings. Great opportunity and growth potential You must be able to put together submissions on your own using various software tools. Experience with GovWin, FedBizOps, FedConnect, or similar is needed. Responsibilities include: Lead business development efforts by initiating client outreach, preparing capability briefings, and conducting meetings to uncover new opportunities and expand relationships. Analyze the government marketplace to identify business opportunities aligned with company capabilities. Manage the capture planning and proposal process, including response development, pricing, document preparation, submission, and follow-up. Use consultative selling techniques to create customer-centric solutions. Develop and implement multi-level customer contact plans and sales pipelines. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure resources are utilized effectively for proposal responses. Build and maintain relationships with key government agencies and decision-makers. Prioritize and manage a pipeline of opportunities, conducting win/loss analysis and process improvements. Attend industry workshops, trade shows, and seminars to stay informed on market trends and expand professional relationships. Minimum Requirements: Five years of experience developing and implementing capture plans for federal government contracts, including strategic planning, proposal writing for RFPs/RFQs/RFIs, and managing marketing and proposal budgets. In-depth knowledge of Federal & Defense Industry Contracting, with familiarity in FAR/DFAR. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related field (Business, Marketing, etc.). Experience in program management, planning, and execution. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project) and video/social media tools. Ability to work additional hours during peak periods. Excellent written and oral communication skills for interacting with all organizational levels, customers, and vendors. Strong multi-tasking, prioritization, and organizational skills. Proven success in securing contracts with federal agencies and driving business growth. Expertise in Bid and Proposal processes, including technical writing, pricing, and staffing. Ability to pass a Federal background check.
