CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer Comp: $40-$44/hr $10,000 sign on bonus Bonus Percent: 6% North Hampton, NH Responsibilities • Independently create CNC programs using GibbsCAM or MasterCam. • Provide programming, setup, and machining expertise in support of daily production and prototype. • Experience in programming 4, & 5-axis mills, Swiss, and/or mill/turn machines. • Configure tools and ensure efficient production. • Identify, design and manufacture fixturing and work holding to effectively process parts through all operations. • Analyze blueprints to calculate correct part dimension for tool selection, machine speeds, and feed rates. • Independently set up and operate CNC equipment on first run parts before handing off to production. • Diagnose and troubleshoot quality and/or process related issues. • Provide guidance to operators and setup technicians for process related issues. • Provide cycle time and tooling cost estimates for new products to engineering. • Communicate recommendations to engineering to modify parts and processes. • Carry out other duties reasonable within capability as required by the supervisor. Education • High School or GED Diploma required - Associate Degree or Certification in related field preferred. • At least 3 years of experience with CNC programming with CAM software, and operating CNC equipment. • Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers, and fixtures, and gauges to check work. • Read Instrumentation and gauges (micro heights, micrometers, calipers, etc) to accurately measure dimensions on parts that are being machined. • Must have a proficient understanding of G-code and M-code programming. • At least 5 years of experience setting up and troubleshooting CNC machines. • Able to demonstrate good manufacturing practices and be able to select tooling and machining resources for the manufacture of parts. • Strong mathematical skills. • Blueprint with GD&T reading capabilities. • Able to work under own initiative. • Flexible, courteous, friendly, and positive approach.
