Workers Compensation Program Specialist
Schedule: Mon-Fri 9am-5pm (Hybrid work schedule)
Salary: $79,000 to 82,000
Sign on Bonus: $2,000
The Workers Compensation Program Specialist is responsible for the overall management of company workers' compensation program. In this position, you will work with internal stakeholders including Human Resources Managers and employees' supervisors to create, maintain, track, and oversee all aspects of workers' compensation claims in adherence to OSHA guidelines. You will also act as the Leave of Absence Coordinator for a specified subset of programs within the Company.
Additional Responsibilities:
• Reviewing all injury reports through the workers' compensation carrier's/Supervisor Accident reports, and follow up, as necessary.
• Serving as a liaison and resource to employees, managers, medical providers, and the Company's workers' compensation carrier.
• Processing and completing FMLA paperwork, including benefits statements, for applicable workers' compensation leaves.
• Facilitating and coordinating restricted/modified duty process with appropriate HR Manager; properly document modifications; coordinate termination of employees who fail to return to work from their workers' compensation leaves with the Employee Relations Manager, the appropriate HR Manager, and the employee's supervisor.
• Analyzing, creating, and distributing meaningful reports to senior managers which identify trends (by injury type, division, position, etc.).
• Compiling and providing biweekly Out of Work reports to HR managers, operations managers, and Directors of Service.
• Preparing reports for, attend, and assist in facilitating quarterly Safety Committee meetings and quarterly Safety Trainings.
• Attending all workers' compensation court hearings and conciliations, as necessary.
Requirement
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; Bachelor's degree in risk management, safety management or related strongly preferred.
• At least five years' progressive experience in workers' compensation claims management.
• Knowledge of workers compensation insurance regulations and applicable laws
• Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
• Must possess a high attention to detail as well as excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity
• Possess knowledge and comfortability with personal computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and video conferencing tools
