Manufacturing Manager

Nashua, NH

Summary: Responsible for the daily operation and activities related to manufacturing, production, shipping/receiving and quality control by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following: • Oversees manufacturing operations to ensure adequate manufacturing capacity to meet market demand. • Directs and controls all changes to the plant layout to ensure production capabilities are unimpaired by any changes or movement. Practices Lean Manufacturing Principles to ensure production flows to the established times. • Understands Kaizen practices and can lead Kaizen events for improvement. • Monitors new manufacturing technologies and recommends acquisition of new equipment to enhance the production process or to reduce costs. • Continually evaluates current equipment capabilities to ensure that it can manufacture products within acceptable quality standards at the lowest cost. • Maintains accurate production control, and inventory control data in database and generates reports as needed. • Participates in new product development to ensure procedures, training, machinery, and equipment are available for producing new products. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Develops and maintains an effective organization through the selection, training, compensation, and motivation of all operations personnel. • Develops and maintains a program for sound employee relations at all levels of the facility. • Oversees and directs the activities of manufacturing personnel. Skills: • Training Skills • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing • Understands Mistake Proofing Processes • Technical Communication Skills • Project Management • Problem Solving • Planning and Analysis • Microsoft office with excellent excel skills required Education/Experience: • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Management, 10+ years of directly related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience in the production of electromechanical systems and subassemblies for medical diagnostics applications • Practical experience implementing lean principals • Continuous improvement and lean principals; verifiable lean manufacturing experience • Knowledge of using ERP system for running production floor, time reporting, capacity planning • Communicate clearly to all levels within the organization (verbal and written) • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, start-up environment; work to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual targets in a rapidly changing and growing environment • Proficient with all MS Office products including Microsoft excel expertise • Helpful to have hands-on, warehouse, mechanical, inventory, assembly, building • electromechanical devices
