Linux Administrator

The successful candidate has senior skills and enterprise-scale experience with Linux server support and implementations, including: hardware evaluation and selection, Operating Systems expertise, Scripting, availability/resiliency/load-balancing design, SAN storage, back-ups, and security considerations. The successful candidate will possess strong and broad Linux Systems Administrator experience in Redhat, CentOS and other similar Operating Systems. In addition, a strong knowledge of VMware virtualization and MySQL Clustering technologies are significant assets. The Linux Systems Administrator will report the Infrastructure Manager. Responsibilities: • Installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of the company's IT systems (Linux, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL). Skills and Expertise Required • Excellent knowledge of Linux (ideally Red Hat/CentOS) • Knowledge of Linux integration with Microsoft Active Directory • Strong knowledge of Apache HTTPD, Tomcat and MySQL configuration, deployment, tuning, monitoring and management within a high availability, large scale environment. • Familiarity with DB Clustering (MySQL, Tungsten, etc.) • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a unix/linux systems administrator. (More senior candidates welcome.) • 5 years of real world experience administering storage arrays. • 4 years of Virtualization with VMware (and/or VMWare Certification) • Must be able to work in time sensitive production environments. • Must be able to work independently. • Incident management skills. • Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills. • A sense of urgency and responsibility for following through. • Excellent communication and troubleshooting skills • Experience in a professional services environment with either a software vendor or systems integrator • Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships • Ability to communicate clearly in technical and non-technical terms • Ability to gather, analyze and organize information • Ability to create, read, analyze and interpret technical diagrams and written procedures Education and Training Required • University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent knowledge/experience. • Additional technical and/or business certifications are an asset Salary 90-95K
