COMPENSATION SPECIALIST-Contract

Boston, MA

Essential Functions: Analyzes job descriptions and reviews compensation surveys to identify potential market benchmarks. Assembles and evaluates external market and internal comparative data to develop and present recommendations for base pay band, zone and pay range assignments for new and modified jobs. Assesses and determines federal/state wage and hour exemption classification status for jobs. Appropriately documents approved results. Consults with HR business partners on compensation policy matters such as promotional increases, job offers, supplemental bonuses, etc. providing timely information and advice that reflects necessary research and thorough understanding of presented issues. Supports annual merit process, analyzing data for assigned business areas, preparing reports, assessing variances to budget and conferring with business partners to address and resolve issues. Provides compensation subject matter expertise for business reorganizations and other assigned HR special projects. Completes assigned salary surveys submitting accurate benchmark pay data to survey companies within prescribed deadline dates to ensure discount on results. Audits practices and evaluates effectiveness of compensation programs. Identifies trends and any procedural problems. Identifies and evaluates alternatives to solve system/business issues. $40.00-$50.00 per hour
