Learning and Development Specialist

Cambridge, MA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES Align and collaborate with HR colleagues and identified leadership to assess current and future business needs to identify and prioritize appropriate learning and development solutions. Source, design, develop, deliver and evaluate learning and development solutions to build capabilities and drive behavioral change for a wide range of needs. Utilize blended learning platforms to create a more integrated approach to support retention and application of learning. Develop measurement and reporting strategies aligned to learning solutions that effectively measure impact. Assess current offerings to ensure alignment with business needs; determine opportunities to increase effectiveness or efficiencies while leveraging talent management processes where appropriate. Lead end-to-end implementation of projects in a fast paced, challenging environment with multiple competing priorities. Utilize strong facilitation skills with programs and processes. Demonstrate strong presence to lead development and talent management discussions and provide recommendations and solutions. Stay current on research and practices in leadership development, learning and development and talent management solutions applying appropriate applications/expertise within the HR team and transfer practices to internal service receivers and HR partners. Act as the senior LMS process owner collaborating effectively with the HRMS team and IS when appropriate. Supervise the Lab Training Coordinator. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MS degree in Learning and Development or equivalent. 8-10 years experience in the Learning and Development field including learning effectiveness and blended learning approaches. 5+ years of direct or indirect experience leading and coaching others. Strong background in analyzing business objectives for learning effectiveness and results. 5 + years of analyzing and understanding learning needs and recommending best learning solutions. 5+ years of experience in recommending and implementing training and learning evaluation methodologies including learning solution impact. Demonstrated experience in project management, leading consulting efforts on learning, performance and training. Ability to collaborate with and influence others; providing thought leadership in learning effectiveness. Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel. Contract - Rate 40 to 45 per hour
